The Board will offer a wealth of expertise and insight into health and social care, each bringing a unique perspective. Collectively, we will strive to represent the people of Leicester and Leicestershire and influence the improvement of local services.

Shireen Bharuchi / Healthwatch Advisory Board Member

Shireen was born and grew up in Leicester before embarking upon a career in healthcare: I have always empathised with patients, whilst understanding the important role the public can play in shaping all aspects of healthcare services.

Being a user of health services in our area, coupled with my training and background I will bring a perspective which I hope will benefit the people of Leicester and Leicestershire.

I will strive to hold NHS and Social Care Services to account so that we work together to achieve world-class services. I will also work to ensure that we collectively tackle challenges like the local diabetes crisis, the ever-increasing number of people living with complex health and care needs and the under resourcing of mental health services.”
