How does it work in Leicester City, Leicestershire County and Rutland County?
The plan for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland was produced jointly by the three Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) and the three Councils; Leicester City, Leicestershire County and Rutland County.
Following the publishing of the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland which aims to cut £400 million off the local health budget over the next 5 years which could result in 281 fewer hospital beds by 2020/21. Healthwatch’s Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, along with other health campaigners have expressed concern over proposed cuts in the number of hospital beds outlined in the STP and how major reorganisation will affect NHS staff.
